Paradise • Pier; (noun)
A small seaside town located in Swan's Island, off the coast of Maine. The Pier is perhaps best known for its misleading name-- tourists come in from all over expecting a picturesque little fishing village below a clifftop lighthouse. Rocky beaches, perfectly-cooked lobster-- what could go wrong? Nothing, of course, but... it is dreadfully rainy. There is a reason that the Pier's remaining inhabitants have nicknamed it Typhoon Lagoon...
Paradise • Pier
Seaside • Boarding • Academy;
(noun)
The highschool where everyone's favorite Disney characters (and select other animated classics) come to life and their stories c o l l i d e.
Weathered by storms and rain, the "Paradise" isn't exactly what one would expect, and consequently, neither are its students. You never know what will happen during your stay at Paradise Pier.
Just ask the students...
"Yeah, it's a little gloomy, but y'know, I'm gettin' used to it. It's got the bare necessities-- my buddies, good food, good-lookin' ladies, a roof over my head, and a little bears' room-- and that's all a place really needs, right?"
"Well, Paradise Pier is a most curious place. It says to be paradise-like and you get the image of sun in your head from the brochure. However, the weather's just as drizzly and cold as England's. Despite the poor weather, I am not sure what I would do without the Pier. All of my dearest friends are here and there are still quite interesting people left to meet. Though some of them are a bit frightening and very well possibly... dare I say, mad? Either way, it's something interesting where I can focus on my creative writing, I wouldn't dream of leaving."
"Ah, don't listen to those silly brochures they'll try to force on you. I've got all the information you are going to need, trust me. The place looks abysmal in person, it never seems to stop raining, and the social life is decidedly lacking, but as far as schools go it isn't dreadful. And it does have a stunning student body (which I would think would be obvious, as I'm here). It may not be London, but I am sure there are worse places to be... probably."
"When I first signed up to be a part of Pier's exchange student program, I was nervous that no one would pay any attention to a strange girl with a funny accent. It turns out that quite a lot of the school has an accent of some sort! Paradise Pier has a truly international community, with students from Canada to Asia and everywhere in between. It must be one of the few places where you can really see people from all over the world working together in classes and having fun together on their days off. If you want to do international work, like the United Nations, there's no better place to be."
“I’m truly not surprised you came to ask me my opinion of Paradise Pier because, really, it’s the only one that matters. It is the only one you can trust. The other students here are, let’s face it, imbecilic at best and disastrous failures at worse. The place itself is tolerable enough, I suppose, if you have the right connections and, lucky enough for us both, I have all the right connections. Isn’t it delightful?”
"At Paradise Pier, my academics soar ;D"
