INTORQUE FORTUNA
Once Eve's teeth sunk into the serpent's Forbidden Fruit, the earth we never
knew was damned. In today's society we like to see second chances in places
they do not exist - the world is perceived to be our oyster, where good loses the
battle but wins the war. Our mothers and fathers sheltered us from the dangers
beyond our cozy, forgiving bedrooms. They tell us no matter what we've done, or
what we're going through, we will make it past our adolescent years. Eventually,
we'll blossom like flowers into beautiful people, get rid of our backstabbing
friends. Eventually, they said, things would work out, and good would conquer
evil. And then there was Voldemort.
Welcome to 1977, where desperate times call for desperate measures.
You can go home to find death sitting on your doorstep. You can't even be sure that
your house will still be there when you return from work. The Wizarding World
is a dismal place now, with everyone from students to purebloods to muggleborns
resorting to bribery in order to be protected from the fatal society of 'death eaters.'
But here in the era of music and vibrancy, some students of Hogwarts refuse to
keep hidden and blubber over the latest killings. Where there is darkness, there
is also light. But when all return to Hogwarts, they find that things have changed
past the point of return.
Amy Rowland, a twelve year old muggleborn and Hogwarts' sweetheart, was
murdered on the way to visit her brother for his birthday. It was the first mark
against the stronghold, striking them all with the realization of mortality. Young
and healthy as one might feel in their free-spirited teen years, their percieved
immortality is fleeting. Danger always lurks around the corner. Sometimes,
even right under their noses.
Everyone knows that most Slytherins are going to join the ranks of Voldemort's
Death Eaters, but what about the rest? Paranoia is setting in as the war grows
to an ultimate level: help annihilate the Muggleborns, or suffer for resistance.
While most people prefer to keep their nose clean of this catastrophe, there is
one 'resistance', the one group unafraid to fight lives on in secret-- The Order of
the Phoenix.
One day, all the students at Hogwarts will have to divide. But the question
remains-- whose side are you on?
INTORQUE FORTUNA
it's a twist of fate
